One of our favorite stops along each Halloween season is at the northern part of our territory. Just south of Milwaukee, Hill Has Eyes is only 85.3 miles from Chicago, and set on the hilly grounds of an old ski resort. Easily the most topographical attraction on our tour, Hill Has Eyes has many unique features including building into the natural terrain, tons of “ups and downs” on outdoor trails, and even a ride on an almost out-of-commission ski lift. (Which some folks may or may not have died on in a tragic accident.)

After meeting at HQ, we began trekking down the hill to the first attraction: Containment. Here, we are the fresh meat for a host of hungry failed experiments and mutants. Make sure to watch your back; attacks come from 360-degrees as patrons descend quite literally in to the dark depths of the Hill.

Upon our exit, we were introduced to Morty and Dallas, a couple of good ole “local” boys who like to drink and welcome any unwilling guests. After they spent some time to help us get acclimated, we were introduced to Junkyard Ray and his home: Failed Escape. These mutant hillbillies, including Brutus the dog, and Starla, wanted to keep us as their own, but somehow we made it out with our minds intact!

As we traversed deeper into the dark woods of Hunger Hollow, we encountered even more of the horrible experiences gone wrong, including Piggy who was ready to make us his meal. Maneuvering our way through the woods, we even found ourselves on the cursed grounds of Camp Crystal Ridge!

Finding our way out of the darkness, and barely escaping a host of dark and demented creatures, we saw light at the end of the tunnel. Like moths to a flame, we drew closer to an old ski lift that offered us an opportunity to ride to our safety! Except, this lift might not have the best safety record. (Yes folks, no illusion here: This is a REAL ski lift! AND might be the only one in-use for a haunted attraction in the country! It certainly offers some amazing night-views of southeast Wisconsin!)

As we disembarked the lift, we found that everything was quite safe. We met Darkheart, a carnival clown who has very special talents with body manipulation. She welcomed us to her home: Carnivore. Themed after a dark circus, clowns tormented and teased us, as they dangled the carrot of freedom before our very eyes.

The Bottom Line: The Hill Has Eyes is an amazing experience with FIVE different attractions. Taking you over and under hills, through the darkness of the forest, it is very easy to see why this is one of our 2018 Top 13 Haunted Attractions. With a perfect balance of fear and fun, this is a must see for your Halloween season!
