Haunted House Chicago prides itself on bringing you all the news, reviews, and scoop about every haunted attraction in the Chicagoland area. We get very excited when a new attraction opens up, and can’t wait to help spread the word! So, you can imagine our excitement when we were told about a new attraction that was being designed by Dream Reapers-vet, Ken Spriggs, and Realm of Terror owner, Steve Kristof. But, this was something unlike we have seen in the Chicago area before.
First, let’s clear up any misconceptions. This is NOT a haunted house. There are no actors trying to scare you and no screaming chainsaws. There’s no chance of getting a touch of makeup blood on your clothes, and you definitely won’t be running.
This is more similar to an art gallery or the WNDR museum. Here, you are encouraged to stay as long as you want, touch everything, and take as many pictures as your heart contends! Billed as a “multi-sensory interactive exhibit” and “museum of the bizarre and unusual,” The Gallery presents patrons with dozens of common haunted attraction scenes that are there to be played and interacted with, photographed, and shared all over social media.
Some of our favorite scenes included the fire place, the “broken” mannequins, the “Stranger Things” couch, and the various “word walls.” But, as haunted house fans, we really loved the extra time to play in the classic vortex!
The Bottom Line: This the perfect attraction to bring anyone, of any age, in any attire, to help them get into the Halloween spirit, share some great memories, and take the perfect family holiday card photo! (Or maybe start a new trend of Halloween ones!)
But, don’t just take our word for it, check out these images from our visit:
