Taking up residence at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds in Wilmot, Wisconsin is that of Soul Reapers Haunted House. While some may say, HHC, this attraction is in Wisconsin, that’s far!  You’d be surprised to learn that it is still within 100-miles of Chicago, just over the Illinois-Wisconsin border, and is definitely a trip for you and the whole family to make!  Bringing four realms of fear this year, this attraction is ready to make sure its patron’s screams are those that are much louder and more intense for the soul reapers to feast on.

This attraction starts to grab your attention as soon as you get out of the car.  With the surprisingly warm Wisconsin evening temperature, mixed with the fog effects from the show, the perfect atmosphere was created to keep the fog sitting just above the ground and lingering there for what seemed to be forever!

Once you cross the threshold, lights are guiding your way and creating a tunnel vision towards the main entrance where our torment is scheduled to begin. As we patiently wait to enter the first attraction, a number of roaming actors were ready to play with any and all of the tortured souls who were waiting to enter.  Playful, entertaining, and full of fun and fear, these line actors threw out the perfect “1-2 punch” jokes and comments that made us simply want more.

The doors opened and our journey began with a visit through the mansion.  Once we enter, we are introduced to Madame Mizery herself, whom we learned is the owner of the house we were about to explore.  With perfectly timed effects, and a wonderful way to introduce the rules to us, we would definitely suggest that you make sure to listen to the Madame. Her monsters are watching to make sure you follow in line and stick to the rules!

Making our way through the house, we encounter many of the Madame’s former staff, that are now taking up residence within. From the kitchen to the dining room, the dolly room, and even the bathroom, the actor attacks were spot on and they were hungry. Our favorite room this year included the billiards room, where we were asked to shoot a pool ball into a pocket, but beware, Kris makes it a tough shot! (We’re sorry, Kris!)

Our second stop led us right into the Hospital of Hell. Here we encountered numerous patients that had become a part of a not-so-pleasant experiment gone wrong.  We were extremely thankful that we were able to check ourselves out of the hospital and that the soul surgeons themselves were not able to keep us for future experiments!

The third attraction brought us to the depths. Here we end up below the ground and taken through the mineshaft and swamp. With creatures lurking in the dark, waiting to make us their next snack, actors attacked from different angles, waiting oh so patiently.

Finally, we headed straight into the gates of the Underworld and made our way into Hell. Weaving our way through the torture chambers and in and out of the dark filled passageways, the Soul Reapers were there ready to welcome us home.  As we entered the catacombs, we met Lucifer himself and all his beasts. Give him your soul or you will be taken capture. If you are lucky enough to escape, be careful where you step, for you may be running straight out of hell with someone far to close behind you!

Monsters of Note: Madame Mizery and Dibbles the Clown

The Bottom Line: This team is hard at work during their off-season putting tons of ideas on paper; Soul Reapers not only writes them down, but also, brings those creations to life each year.  This is one of those attractions to keep your eye on, as they are ALWAYS working hard to build their show and continually make it better! Make sure to visit for yourself and see just what we’re talking about.

But, don’t just take our word for it, check out media from our visit:
