Just over the border of Illinois and Wisconsin, on the grounds of the Kenosha County Fairgrounds, lies the up-and-coming, Soul Reapers Haunted House. We have had the opportunity to experience this attraction since its inception, and by far, they have certainly been growing up. For 2019, the attraction is now housed across FOUR barns! (And that’s actual patron-walked haunt-show!) We can’t wait to tell you about it!

As we parked our car, the fog just happened to be sitting just above the ground. Setting the scene like all of our favorite horror movies, we found bravery and walked to the front. Immediately, we were introduced to Dibble and Nibbles, a pair of clowns. (Literally) Extremely playful, slightly adult, and fully interactive, Nibbles and Dibbles make sure we were always entertained and never truly settled. As we waited for our chance to enter, they patrolled, watched, and stalked. We laughed, we cried, we sought therapy. Bravo!

As we made our way through the first house, which was truly modeled after a home, we found our way through many of your typical scenes like the kitchen and bathroom. But, our favorite was certainly the dolly room. (Do you want to play? Why yes, we always do!)

The second house was modeled after an asylum. Before entering, we were introduced to “nurse spy” who told us many things and warned us not to enter. But, don’t worry… we disobeyed! We found our way into the doctor’s office, and met many of his experiments. These actors were extremely playful and ready for anything we through at them!

The third house threw us into the middle of a very dark maze. Filled with black halls, our minds quickly started to become paranoid, not knowing what was lurking around the corner… or just behind us. Many say the mind creates the most real fear, and this made the hair stand on the back of our necks!

Finally, we made it to the fourth house. Straight out of Dante’s Inferno, we found our way into Hell. Filled with many entities’ that desired our soul, we were graced with the opportunity to meet both the spider queen and satan himself! But, one of our favorite experiences was the satanic sisters that forced us to choose a path and created a separation in our group.

The bottom line: Soul Reapers is definitely one of those attractions to keep your eyes on. They are constantly working, and that work shows making this a must-see haunted attraction!
