Located at Kennelly Park in Worth, Illinois, housed within the recreation building is Nightmare at the Terrace.  Opened back in 2009, this attraction is completely volunteer based, bringing in many community volunteers and local high school students to help staff their attraction.  What makes this attraction even better, they are ADA compliant, which allows any special needs patrons the opportunity to enjoy the same Halloween adventures as everyone else.

As we began our journey into the unknown, we were greeted by the ring master who welcomed us to the freakshow.  As we weaved our way in and out of room after room, we encountered numerous actors hungry for fresh meat.

Set with dark hallways, you never knew where the next attack would come from.  Some of our favorite scenes included a trip to see Georgie and Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the asylum filled with some pretty crazy patients, and we couldn’t forget the clowns!  Not to mention, we enjoyed the white curtain maze that they had, with wonderful actors set perfectly to try to turn you around and get you lost!

With larger room to play in, these actors did a wonderful job and were full of so much energy they were bouncing off AND hanging from the walls (literally)!  With great timing in their attacks, this attraction had us leaving with a large smile on our faces!

The Bottom Line: For a volunteer based attraction, Nightmare at the Terrace does a wonderful job by bringing the community together.  Set for the whole family to enjoy, this is a must-see attraction that everyone can enjoy this Halloween season!
