This year, horror has a new home and is taking up residence at Santa’s Village aZOOsment Park in West Dundee, IL. After the sun goes down, the ghosts, ghouls and creatures of the night come out and bring your fears to reality.  Set throughout the entire park, Fables Fright Nights brings you 4 haunted houses, scare zones, amusement rides, and many other surprises that go bump in the night!

We started our evening off being greeted by two very gracious hosts, who were our guides for the evening, “B” and “LJ”.  Both with witty banter back and forth between us and each other, they definitely set the tone for the evening ahead.

First in the evening, we had the opportunity to meet “Krampus” and have our picture taken with him.  Staying true to the myth behind him, Krampus didn’t disappoint in a few scares here and there within our group.

Next, we made our way to the first house of the night, “Ghosts of Christmas Past”.  This attraction is based on the story that every Christmas Eve, many ghosts from the Davenport family, who just so happened to disappear 125 years ago on Christmas Eve, come back and roam the halls of their residence.  Filled with great pop scares and very hungry actors ready to attack, you don’t know if you’ll make it out, or be left to celebrate the holidays with the Davenport family forever.

The next attraction of the night was “The Ritual”. Making your way through the labyrinth of corn, you never know what is hiding within.  Filled with many twists and turns, and a few dead ends along the way, this was a fun attraction set under the beautifully moonlit sky.

The third haunted house, “Carnivale”, brings one of the craziest circuses to town.  As you weave in and out of the circus town, you encounter many carnies and clowns of all shapes and sizes, just ready to make you a part of their freak show.  Just be careful where you turn next, you never know what tricks these clowns may have up their sleeves!

The last haunted house of the evening was, “The Catacombs”.  Hidden beneath the ground is the chambers that hold the remains of some of the darkest souls.  Weaving in and out of the dark, gloomy tunnels within, these souls are just waiting to trap the living with them forever.

As we made our way through the rest of park, we were able to enjoy some of the amusement rides that were available.  It was definitely a night filled with many laughs, screams and things that go bump in the night!

The Bottom Line: Don’t miss out on a fright-filled evening that everyone of all different ages can enjoy together. Make sure you head on over to Fables Fright Nights, it’ll have you screaming for more!
