Picture the ideal building: decrepit, aged, dirty, truly haunted… abandoned casket factory. Add in some dark and twisted creative minds, throw in a splash of dark and gritty scenes, and sprinkle in a wide-range of dedicated actors. Mix all of this together and you have the perfect recipe for a haunted attraction location that no one else can claim. Well my friends, you have the perfect recipe for Evil Intentions Haunted House. The creators behind this attraction play to the buildings strengths (and even weaknesses), and create a truly unforgettable experience.
For those that have never experienced this attraction, you truly are missing out. There is nothing fake here about this setting in any way, shape or form. This 100+ year old building sends shivers down our spine just thinking about it! The walls, the smell, the history behind this building is truly remarkable and can’t be made up… literally – Google it!
Standing in line waiting to enter the attraction, even though we’ve been here in this same location for the past years, we couldn’t help but get goose bumps knowing what was ahead. This isn’t a pretty location, it’s dark and dirty and twisted in its own way. For that alone, sets Evil Intentions apart from everyone else, and this year was no different.
As multiple line actors roamed about not only inside, but outside, ramping up the crowd as they waited to go inside. We had the opportunity to visit with Horsey, Linus, Fick Dich and Francois, just to name a few. Watching them work the line of patrons was truly mesmerizing, as they never stopped once.
From the minute you enter into the depths of madness, the creatures lurking around each corner are ready to help further torment your imagination that is already running wild. What’s also wonderful about this attraction, they change their opening year to year. This year, the overall theme for the attraction was “The Ritual”, which absolutely was the BEST performance we’ve ever seen. Complete with a surprise opening, we knew the demons within were hungry for new blood.
Many might say that Evil Intentions is too dark, but we say that it’s just perfect! The darkness here is its best friend, and they don’t have to work very hard to find it! Who wouldn’t want to use the natural use of the building?! Add in the perfect pinpoint lighting to showcase the rooms, and your skin crawls as you never know what’s real or fake. You are fully immersed into a whole different dimension when here.
Some of the most memorable scenes this year was the Dentist, who inspected each one of our groups teeth and explained which of our teeth he wanted and why! Not to mention the Doctor, complete with his knives and everything, was ready to peel the skin off of us, and cut out a few organs or two. But nothing beats the outdoor courtyard this year. As you make your way out of the basement, you are truly outside in the courtyard area. Complete with a two story façade, you walk up and hear the preacher telling us of the evil inside.
Throwing us completely back into the second half of the attraction, one of our favorite parts here is the coffin maze. The actors here do a wonderful job of turning your group around, be careful who you listen to, you may just be stuck inside forever!
Of course the night wouldn’t be complete without the minds behind the attraction having a little more fun with our group as we went through. We commend them on a nice little prank they played on one of our review team members, it truly gave an extra amount of added creepiness to the tour, not knowing what would happen next to her!
Evil Intentions has been around for 12 years, 9 of those years have taken up residence at the casket company. With that being said, this group has grown a significant amount and have truly stepped it up. Completely utilizing the history and building to their full advantage, we are happy to say that they won’t be going anywhere for a long time!
The Bottom Line: This is by far the best production of Evil Intentions that we have experienced. Not only do they bust their butts in the off-season by running Ghost Tours, Survive the Night Escape Room and the ability to re-theme and re-design portions of their house. They continue to grow and embrace the history of the casket factory that lives within the core of the property and just keep getting better and better. Trust us, this isn’t just a must-see attraction, but a MUST experience during your Halloween adventures this year!
