Massacre Haunted House
Montgomery, IL
Reviewed on: Sunday, October 18, 2015
The Massacre Haunted House may only be in its 2nd year at their new home in Montgomery, Illinois, but they are sure settling in quite nicely! Make no mistake; this is NOT a second year attraction. These guys are veterans of the industry, and make a vivid in-your-face horrifying experience appear right before your very eyes!
Detail, detail, detail. Massacre is all about detail. Their house/mansion scenes are something straight out of a movie, and leave very little to be imagined. Just let your eyes and body take over, because my friends, there is no escape. And the torture starts from the moment you start up the ramp to enter the waiting line!
Inside, Massacre not only has traditional haunted house sets and scenes, but a host of other horrors like hospital and clown scenes. But, a huge highlight is their jungle area. Complete with running water, and a host of smells, actors are SUPERB in this area, and leave nothing behind.
They even take us by one of the very first props they had, which was a T-Rex! Just when we were feeling nostalgic, the crew here reminds us of the business they are in and keep us screaming and running for the door.
Updating and making some renovations on Fear Factory 3D, some of the actors within this part of the attraction are bouncing off the walls, literally! We don’t know how some of the actors can go that intense all night long, never breaking!
The Bottom Line: If you are a veteran fan of the Chicago Haunt Industry, I think the absolute best compliment I could ever pay this attraction is to say they are the new “Dream Reapers.” From Scene to Scene, all of your nightmares will be brought to life and imprinted in your memory, and chasing you for some time to come. No, there won’t be any sleeping tonight…
