Hayride of Horror at Dellwood Park
Lockport, IL

Welcoming another new attraction to the haunt family in 201, taking up residence in Lockport, IL is Hayride of Horror at Dellwood Park. Created by the Lockport Park District, we were excited to see a new family attraction move into town, let alone a hayride (as there aren’t very many in our area)!
The atmosphere here is definitely family-driven, which is what makes this attraction so great. As we waited to board our hayride, we were told the story of the horror within the park that we would soon see for ourselves.
As we boarded the large wagon, we were excited to see what was in store for us. The wagon took off and we began our journey under the starlit sky. Set up will small vignettes along the way, the actors waited ever so patiently to attack.
Some of our favorite scenes were that of the zombie graveyard, that was filled with at least 8-10 actors lingering behind our wagon ever so cautiously. Others included the pickup truck hillbilly family, the young girls gathered around the bonfire, and last but not least, an ever so entertaining visit from Ghostface, the familiar face from the SCREAM movie series.
The Bottom Line: For a first year attraction, Hayride of Horror definitely put smiles on our faces. For those youngsters that are starting to get that love for Halloween as much as we do at Haunted House Chicago. Have no fear that this is the perfect attraction to start them off at!
