DEAD Rising & DEAD Central Haunted House

This year, Fun Times Square in Alsip, IL, presents you a double feature of deadliness combining DEAD Rising and DEAD Central Haunted House.  As we made our way to the attraction, numerous actors roamed outside greeting each patron.  Here, we met Havoc, who as always is entertainingly funny, as well as meeting Tiny, a rather interesting clown who carries a large, heavy, and custom-welded metal club!  His witty humor definitely packs a one-two punch, kept us laughing, and secretly watching from the corner of our eye to make sure we weren’t followed.

As we entered the first attraction, DEAD Rising, we watched a TV monitor informing us what we were about to encounter inside the house and how to hopefully make it out alive.  Trekking our way through, we encountered numerous zombies that had overtaken a house.  Weaving in and out, scene after scene, an overwhelmingly large amount of zombies tried to eat our brains.  From the kitchen, to the dining room, the actors were spot on with their attacks and never backed down. (And truly the number of actors involved in each setting was really remarkable!)

One of our favorite scenes is that of the elevator. Trust us when we say that this isn’t your normal elevator and you’ll definitely be in for a real treat once the doors close. Just remember that what goes up, must always come down!

As we made our way out of the first attraction, we encountered an actor who was dressed in army attire who was sprawled out on the floor.  Anytime we moved, he’d be right in front of you blocking our way.  Back and forth he went, whenever one of our team members moved, he was always right there in front of us.  It was very well done and definitely a lot of time put into that much patience needed.

Entering the second attraction, DEAD Central, we were greeted by a nurse telling us to be careful of the patients within its walls.  Weaving in and out, we made our way through the psych ward, operating room, and even the freezer.  Here patients tried their hardest to find a way out with us, or a way to keep us in there with them forever.

The Bottom Line:  DEAD Rising & DEAD Central are both great attractions, each offering a different type of atmosphere.  The actors are patient and know exactly when to strike next.  Overall, this is a fun family attraction that you want to have on your must-see list!
