This year, Massacre Haunted House was another one that made a big move to their new home in Montgomery, IL. Now located in their permanent 20,000 square foot building, they are ready to welcome new victims (we mean patrons), to their attraction. Having all this additional room now to spread their wings and have the demented minds do whatever they please, we knew we were going to be in for a real treat!

As we approached their building, which is located in an old warehouse-style building, numerous characters were outside torturing and teasing patrons, preparing them for what was inside. Inside, guests were offered the chance to take photos and watch a horror movie as they await their certain dooms.

We began our trek through the attraction weaving our way in and out of the hospital scenes, taking a trip through the jungle complete with a dinosaur, and even encountering a dozen wild and crazy clowns, to name a few! One thing that the actors of Massacre know especially well is their timing and placement. From the moment you enter the room, you never quite know when or where the attack is going to come from. Actors and actresses wait silently and patiently just waiting for their next victim to get into place.

After we made our way through the main attraction, we entered the 3D portion: Fear Factory 3D. A great accent to the main house, Fear Factory 3D showcases similar actors with superb timing and amazing artistic work that covers nearly 360-degrees!

But, what really took us by surprise is as our tour in the 3D portion came to a close, we were thrown right back into the main attraction for another portion of thrills and chills! Here, we ventured through a movie cinema, some alleys, and had the opportunity to meet “Boqwisha.” Let us sum this up by saying that this experience definitely has us considering the actor/actress (?) playing Boqwisha for this year’s HHC Acting Award!

The Bottom Line: With a brand new building and all this space to grow, we expect the Massacre to be around for many more years. They are growing and developing very quickly, and definitely an attraction that cannot be missed. At the time of this printing, they were were recently named top attraction by a leading newspaper for 2014, and we know that will only be a tip of the iceburg.
