We have been honored to visit Haunted Hills Hospital for years across their two “pro” locations. What is really exciting about our job is that we not only get to witness and document progress through the years, but we get to experience and “feel” it. Haunted Hills Hospital is a great example of how non-stop hard work and elbow grease really do pay off.

Our experience started parking off-site, there, we took a school bus to the attraction, which is only minutes away. There is a small fee for parking, so make sure you have some cash on you. Make sure you don’t have any weapons/contraband, as you will have to go through a metal detector in order to ride the bus. After arriving, we immediately took a photo with the staff’s official photographers, and were whisked away into the Mayhem Midway! Within the midway, there are food and concession vendors, as well as people selling fun and interesting items and trinkets.

While a fun offering, we were already drooling to enter the main areas of Haunted Hills Hospital, the Hills Hollow Sanctum Scarezone. Here, monsters and creatures of all kinds are roaming and stalking your every move! If you wanted to get that special holiday card photo: this is your chance! Complete with a light and sound show, this was the perfect appetizer before entering each of the attractions.

First up was a visit to the Fear Lab. We pride ourselves at HHC on many things, but one of them is to make sure we don’t spoil anything. So, we aren’t going to tell you what happens. But, we can honestly say this is the least visually-appealing attraction we have ever been to – because your eyes will be blindfolded! The crew here CAN and WILL touch you, as this is an immersive experience to be enjoyed by your other senses. AND trust us, it gets the heart racing!

Second, we sauntered over to the Vile Bros. Sickbilly Sideshow and joined the circus! However, things have gone very wrong here and this clown car of characters have truly lost their marbles! While this is one of the wildest circuses we have experienced, we really enjoyed the great use of path design, which made the experience an adventure! Another very unique feature is that many of the actors attack you twice throughout your tour. So, from a narrative sense, it was great to see that continuation as actors developed this from scene to scene. Bravo!

Third, we checked-in to their namesake attraction: The Haunted Hills Hospital. As you imagine, patients and doctors are running wild, and we are joining the chaotic program already in-progress. We loved the personal interactions with many of the actors and actresses, and even received our own personal diagnosis from the doctor himself! With lots of high-activity moments, to several low/quiet moments, Haunted Hills Hospital kept us guessing around each corner!

Just when we thought the fun was over, we exited into the Town Square. Here we found quick escape games, axe throwing, pumpkin chunkin, and more carnival-style games! BUT, we had the opportunity for personal readings with their on-site REAL tarot card readers! What a great experience, even though one of us pulled the “death” card!

Before boarding the bus back to the parking lot, we checked out the gift shop and arcade, took our pulses, and crawled back!

The Bottom Line: Haunted Hills Haunted Attractions is a one-stop-shop for a complete evening of Halloween fun and spooky chills! While there are three very different haunted experiences, the midway/common areas have offerings for whatever wets your whistle: food, carnival games, arcade games, souvenirs, and even test your luck with a fortune teller! Pro-tip: This will be a full-evening adventure, so get ready!
