Disturbia Haunted Attraction has been around for quite a while. But, in the last 5 years, they were purchased by the extremely creative team behind Basement of the Dead, and started to develop one of the fastest-progressing shows in the Chicagoland area! After being featured on both the TransWorld and MHC Pre-Show Tours, Disturbia balances a fully-interactive line entertainment and queue area with an interior that has great scene work, design, path layout, and TONS of props!

Starting with your outside experience, from the moment you get out of your car, you can hear the music rocking and the crew dancing and creepin’! This is one of the few line queues that actually is so much fun to be a part of because of the amazing crew that works this area. There’s a live DJ, actors on stilts, chainsaws, crows on racecars, sliders, and people jumping on hearses! It is orchestrated chaos!

Inside is a deep-dive into some of the best animatronics and props in the game, combined with realistic scene work that plunges you into each environment. We loved the hillbilly and pumpkin scenes, but can’t wait to tell you about their new operating/doctor/nurse area. In a perfect balance of highs and lows, Disturbia’s newest addition takes you from a high-energy area to a nurse check-in room. For at least the first 5-7 seconds we observed her, we would have bet she was an animatronic. But, BAM she shocked us all and provided us an admission into one of the most wild, and high-activity areas around. From various actors and actresses, to a healthy mix of animatronics, to video monitor screens, and more, there is always something to grab your attention -and expose yourself to a great attack!

Monsters of Note: The entire front of house personnel including: Butcher Baby, Drags, Mr. Crow, and Chainz, as well as the Nurse before the operating room! (Nurse Ratchet?)

The Bottom Line: The creators behind Disturbia Haunted House have come to show their guests that they mean business. High energy and fun waiting area, followed by floor to ceiling detail inside the attraction, plus a group of hungry actors who are giving it their all. Mix all of this together and you have a fully immersive experience that you don’t want to miss out on!
