Disturbia Haunted House located in Downers Grove, Illinois has been around for quite some time, just with different residences and under previous ownership. Now in their new permanent home and under new ownership, each season the creators behind this attraction dig deeper into the creative depths within and come up with amazing ideas. For those that have been to Disturbia in years past, make no mistake, this attraction is completely different and stronger than ever before!

As guests wait in line to enter the attraction, this is not just your average wait queue, but a fully immersive all-around PARTY! Complete with a DJ, fog, lights and other special effects, a rocking playlist filled with all kinds of party rock anthems, and an endless amount of line actors anxiously looking at who will be their next target. From getting to see Butcher Baby, Dizzy, Drags, Split, Mr. Crow, Chainz, and of course, Raggedy Anne. You never know who you are going to encounter next, and that is all just outside!

Beginning our adventure within the attraction, we were told the rules and set off to depart on our journey. Making our way throughout each scene, detail was everywhere! From floor to ceiling and everywhere in between, the detail in not just the overall scene, but the pinpointed lighting making each room come to life. Throw in some wonderful actors and actresses and these scenes were on fire.

From the round catacomb walls, the graveyard, dolly room all the way to their iconic pumpkin room. Every spot has an immense amount of detail, there is so much to look at! No corner is left uncovered, and it fully immerses you into the feeling of the scene as if you are truly engulfed by it. One of our favorites is the cage maze accented by perfectly timed strobe lights, and some of the most patient actors lurking in the dark. Let’s see if you can find the cow inside! Also, make sure to check out the fog effects, they are impeccable! The way the fog lingers within, you truly can’t see anything or anyone in front of you!

One thing that Disturbia does very well is that the consistency throughout the entire house was spot-on. From perfectly timed animatronics to precise actor attacks coming from all angles. Inside these walls, the actors are hungry and looking forward to their next victims. 2022 was no joke for this group, they truly meant business this year by the amount of detail that went into it, and we truly can’t wait to see how much more this attraction grows in 2023! Bravo!

With a high energy and fun waiting area, followed by floor to ceiling detail inside the attraction, plus a group of hungry actors who are giving it their all.
